Uta Gerhardt (geboren 1938) ist Soziologin und hat von 1965 bis 2003 in Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA an zahlreichen Universitäten gelehrt und geforscht. Als Emerita lebt sie nun in Berlin.

 

Uta Gerhardt (born 1938) held a Chair in Sociology at the University of Heidelberg until her retirement in 2003. She held teaching and research positions in Berlin, Konstanz, San Francisco, London, New York, and Harvard, among other universities. Her special interest is in the social theories of Max Weber and Talcott Parsons, and also the democratization of Germany after WW II. She was a co-editor or member of the editorial board of a number of sociological journals, and was elected into functions at the German Sociological Association, British Sociological Association, and American Sociological Association. She is also a member of the German Historical Association.
